What does the Bible say about abortion?

Angel in the Waters Bible passages such as the following establish the reality of human life in the womb.

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.” Jeremiah 1:5

“When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. In a loud voice she exclaimed: "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear! But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy.” Luke 1:41-44

Since abortion is the deliberate killing of this innocent human life in the womb, it violates the explicit command of God.

“Thou shalt not kill.” Exodus 20:13

And Jesus said, "You shall not kill,…” Matthew 19:18

"You know the commandments: ‘Do not kill,…” Mark 10:19

"You know the commandments: ‘…Do not kill,…” Luke 18:20
